This study group is an international group of colour designers, colour consultants, architects, urban designers and planners, landscape architects, interior architects, artists, designers, graphic designers, lighting designers, art and architectural historians, psychologists, sociologists, ecologists, philosophers, scientists, educators and other professionals with a specific interest in colour as a means of environmental design in interior and exterior space.

It is a broad field of study that includes colour in the natural environment, built environments and sociocultural environments. Part of this field of research is the investigation of the effects of colour upon human emotions, cognition and behaviour.

The aim is to promote a deeper understanding of the relevance of colour in the overall design process and to establish a theoretical and practical basis for trans-national discussions concerning a cross-cultural appreciation of environmental colour design.
