1963 Atti delle VIle Giornate lnternazionali del Colore
Proceedings: The seventh edition of the Giornate Internazionali del Colore began on 2 May 1963 at the Salone dei Duecento in Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, kindly made available by the municipality. Scientific studies on colour could not find a better reception than that offered by the city seat of the Associazione Ottica Italiana and the Istituto Nazionale di Ottica, as well as of many famous collections of pictorial works, which constitute a real/true triumph of colour. The Società Leonardo da Vinci, in the historic Palazzo Corsini, hosted the works on the afternoon of 2 and on the morning of 3 May; the Uffizi Gallery hosted the oral sessions on the afternoon of 3 May, on themes concerning the enhancement of colours in the exhibition of works of art. On 4 May, the works were dedicated to the themes of colour in the industry and took place in the city of Prato, famous for its textile industry.

Rather than separating the working sessions on the one hand, the receptions and visits on the other hand, we preferred to give the unfolding Days in strictly chronological order. Rather than truncating the speeches of our President, we preferred to give them in full length as we were asked so from various sides. You will therefore find in this summary edition, a report as complete as possible of the 3rd International Days of Color in Brussels. We hope it will call back good memories to those who participated and will allow those who could not come to acknowledge everything they missed.

After a brief history of French and Belgian efforts in the field of colorimetry, and shown how since the International Color Days held in Amiens in 1957, a close collaboration had been established with the Commission of French Colorimetry. The importance of unifying colorimetric measures as well as vocabulary was stressed.
